She is one of my favorite babies’ - the chunkified girl of the rancher running the show here. I <3 her.

Please pray for Lazarus. We think he ate poison, and by the time I found out about him he hadn’t eaten or had any water to drink in days and was on death’s door. I have him a garlic and charcoal enema two days in a row to clear out the poison, and within 30 minutes of the first one he was drinking water and ate three bites of food. I was so excited and thought for sure he would recover. But it is now a few days later and while he’ll drink a little bit of water when I hold it right up to him, he hasn’t eaten any more since that one time. Today I have force fed him minerals and probiotics through an oral syringe, but he puked the first one up. So every couple of hours. I’ve been giving him only about an ounce at a time so he’ll keep it down. Until tonight, he seemed like he wanted to try and live, but when I just checked on him to feed him some more before bed, he used what little strength he had to get up and move away from me. I think he is tired of the fight and wants to go home. Of course I got so invested into saving him and its breaking my heart. I told him that I would keep helping him and fighting for his life, but that he should go if he wanted to. It was a hard goodbye tonight, knowing that I might not find him alive tomorrow morning. What I have learned from this is that you really fall in love with those whom you serve. I didn’t even know this dog five days ago - no one on the ranch even knew his name, sadly. So, after I started tending to him and he drank water for the first time in days, I decided to call him Lazarus in the hopes that it would be apropos. Thank you for your prayers in sending him home peacefully, or for a quick recovery - though I don’t want to see him go, nature must take its course.
My little leg broke, so they made a stint for me out cardboard, a stick, and duct tape. I walk a little awkwardly, but at least I’m walking!
Our little ranch house {before}. No plumbing. No electricity. We pulled electricity in through an extension chord after not having it for awhile. The hum of the refrigerator sounds like an unwelcome trumpet blaring after being used to the stillness and quiet of our own natural frequency.
We went for the crimped look ;-)

How much I’ve changed…
The faults and weaknesses which are born in us are the enemies we are to grapple with, and those who have the greatest, and can put them under their feet, are the greatest conquerors and will wear the brightest crowns. ~Helen Mar Whitney

Something very special is happening here. This lamb’s mother died giving birth to her and this sheep’s baby died. So we skinned the dead baby lamb’s coat off of her and put it over this motherless lamb so this sheep will adopt it as her own, having the scent of her on it from her dead baby. It worked and mom is letting baby feed off of her. A true love story. <3 <3 <3
